The Study Abroad Programme is established with the aim of building up awareness and making cross-cultural teaching, learning and integration a reality for the Chinese, British and International students involved in the co-operative projects established by ECES between UK and Chinese educational institutions.
Typically, Chinese students aged 15/16 will study a whole summer term in an independent school in the UK. They will live, study and mix with local British and international students helping them to learn, to understand and to make friends with students from other cultures.
British Students will also have the opportunity to spend a half-term or school holidays in China where they can meet their Chinese friends, visit Chinese schools, try real Chinese food, communicate directly with Chinese people and experience the way of life in China. They will also be able to join tours by Chinese schools and host families to explore and experience the “real” China.
